We all know what TO DO list is. But did you know about NOT TO DO list?
It’s a simple exercise that can help anyone to stay focused and have a productive day and not just busy day.
How it works? Very easy!
Take a piece of paper and every time when a curtain task comes to mind (those that can be safely ignored, done by others, or simply used as an excuse to stop doing what you are supposed to) write this down and turn the page.
Keep doing it every time when something destructing is crossing your mind. Don’t forget to turn the page face down every time.
What it does?
Remember the phrase: “Out of sight, out of mind”? By writing it down, you are virtually taking the destruction out of your thoughts to the piece of paper. And by turning the page face down you are signaling to your brain that it’s gone.
And when you do that, you are able to eliminate the urge to immediately act on it.
Look at your NOT to do list at the end of the day. You might be amazed by how many unnecessary tasks you were ably to avoid spending time on.
